Shipping and delivery

How do you ship to us?

We ship from Germany to all EU countries, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. For Germany we use standard postal services. For international destinations we select reliable carriers.

What are your shipping charges?

Within Germany we use the “Merchandise Shipment (Warensendung)” rate: € 1.80 with envelope size up to 35.3 × 25 × 5 cm. For out of Germany shipments the rate is  € 3.30

Is there an express delivery option?

Yes. If you require faster shipping we offer an express option. Please note that express shipping will cost more and international transit times depend on local postal networks and customs. Please write to us.

When will I receive my parcel?

For Germany deliveries with the Warensendung rate we typically see about 4 working days transit time. For other EU countries, the UK the transit time will be about 4–9 working days.

Can I track the shipment?

We usually choose the low-cost Deutsche Post Warensendung option, which does not include tracking. If you prefer a tracked shipment, please email us at contact@indiekidz.eu before placing your order. We can ship with a tracking number, but this will add a small extra cost depending on your country.

What happens if my parcel is lost or damaged in transit?

If your parcel arrives damaged or does not reach you within a reasonable time, please email us at contact@indiekidz.eu with your order details and, if possible, a photo. We will either replace the item or issue a refund, depending on the situation.

Refunds and returns

Can I return items from a bookshop order?

Yes, you can return your order within 14 days of receiving it, as part of your consumer right of withdrawal. We only ask that the book is returned in new and unused condition so it can be resold.

Please note that sealed or personalised items cannot be returned once opened or customised. Return shipping costs are usually covered by the customer.

Once we receive and check the return, we’ll issue a refund within 14 days to your original payment method.

About book usage

Will my child be able to read the books independently?

Our books are designed for children to enjoy both independently and together with parents. We highly encourage parents to read along, discuss the stories, or play around the themes by sharing their own memories and experiences.

Each IndieKidz book is more than a story; it is a way to build communication, curiosity, and bonding between you and your child. Reading together turns each page into a moment of connection and shared joy.

How do you choose the books?

For ages 1–3, we focus on simple words, bright pictures, and playful stories that build early skills and parent-child bonding.

For ages 4–7, we include stories, puzzles, and cultural themes that spark imagination and connect children to their roots.

All books are reviewed by educators and parents to keep them fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate.

What if we don't enjoy a book you've sent?

We understand that every child has unique interests. If a book doesn’t connect as you hoped, please email us at contact@indiekidz.eu and we’ll do our best to make it right. We can recommend alternative titles or offer store credit for your next order. Our goal is for every child to truly enjoy learning and reading with IndieKidz.

Can I order multiple books and get a bulk or quantity discount?

Yes. For bulk or group orders, please write to contact@indiekidz.eu with the number of copies and destination country. We’ll be happy to offer a special discount and combined shipping where possible.

What is special about IndieKidz books, and how are they different from regular activity books?

IndieKidz books are created with an Indian context in mind, bringing together stories, activities, and traditions that help children understand India’s history, culture, and values while growing up abroad.

Unlike regular activity books that only focus on puzzles or coloring, IndieKidz books blend learning, storytelling, and parent–child bonding through topics children can relate to — from festivals and daily life to kindness and curiosity.

Each book is screen-free, thoughtfully designed by educators and parents, and made to spark both fun and meaningful conversations at home.

Buying as a gift

Do you offer gift wrapping or special packaging?

Yes. You can choose our gift option during checkout. Your order will arrive in an IndieKidz-themed envelope or box with a gift message printed inside. If you’re sending directly to someone, simply enter their address in the delivery section.

How do I buy or send books as a gift?

At checkout you may select a gift option and provide recipient details. You can also include a gift message. If you prefer direct shipment to the recipient, please enter their address in the delivery address field. We will send them in a gift designed packet.

Your account

Do I need to set up an account?

No, you may complete a purchase as a guest. Creating an account offers the convenience of faster checkout, saved addresses and order history.

I can't log in to my account?

Please click the “Forgot password” link on the login page. If that does not work please email us at contact@indiekidz.eu with your registered email address and we will assist you.

I've forgotten my log in details, what can I do?

If you’ve forgotten your password use the “Forgot password” link. If you’ve forgotten which email address you used or have other account issues please contact our support team and we will help recover your account.

I've got a problem with my account, what can I do?

Please email us at contact@indiekidz.eu and provide as much detail as you can (order number, email address, error message) so we can assist you promptly.

What if I want something that’s not listed or currently unavailable?

We love hearing what families would like to see next. If a book or product you’re looking for isn’t available, please write to us at contact@indiekidz.eu and let us know. Many of our upcoming titles are shaped by parent suggestions, so your feedback truly helps us decide what to create or restock next.
